It’s a relief to be able to have a program like “Pay It Forward” sponsored by customers like you! Thank you for helping us feed our food insecure friends, neighbors, passer bys. 

Something we started to do to help others is now helping us save ourselves. By paying it forward you are helping us pay back-owed bills incurred as a result of multiple natural disasters we experienced since moving into our brick & mortar space, as well as Covid and inflation related lack of cash flow.

We started the Pay It Forward board at our store May 2022. It all started when one too many people came in asking for free food in the same month. My frustration of being a struggling small business owner being asked for free food in a setting where we should be selling food quickly changed to “there has to be a solution to this.” A few days later while out with a friend I saw a pay it forward board. It was fancy, custom, branded. I decided you know what? Our goal is to feed the people already coming to us for free food and not go broke doing it. So our board does not have to be fancy at all. We repurposed something we already had and voilà, anyone can grab a prepaid meal off the #Bonbonlakay board. No need to beg. 

At the suggestion of a customer, the Pay It Forward now does not only live in the store - it is now here online.

Now anyone can purchase a meal at Bonbon Lakay for someone in need, a shelter, a non-profit organization.

How it works - 

- Each meal purchased here will be added to the "Pay It Forward" board in store

- Larger "Pay It Forward" purchases will be put towards meals donations to food pantries, shelters, and other organizations in need of food donations throughout the year.

You are giving back while helping us maintain day to day operations to stay open! Win Win!

***July 2023 Update*** This Summer your Pay It Forward contributions supports our efforts to provide relief in the form of meals, non food related necessities and employment for newly arrived Haitian Immigrants.
