Founded in 2018 -  Bonbon Lakay which translates into treats from home, launched with the purpose of making a little piece of Haiti available to Foodies, Haitian Culture Enthusiasts, and Haitian Diaspora everywhere.  Treats offered include Barbancourt rhum cake, peanut brittle, cashew brittle, starch cookies(a shortbread cookie made primarily with starch), langue boeuf(a crispy pastry) amongst other treats.

Since launching, BonbonLakay.com has amassed both Haitian and Non-Haitian loyal customers far and wide - becoming a community of over 16,000 social media followers, email subscribers and shoppers.

A Bonbon Lakay Store & Snack Bar opened Summer 2021 amidst the pandemic in Park Slope, Brooklyn. The location has a curated menu of Haitian-American fare, from the popular Haitian patties and tropical juices to traditional dishes like pumpkin soup to a very popular BBQ griot sandwich.

We are closed on Christmas Day, Half Day on Thanksgiving. Closed New Year’s Eve, Open New Years Day.

Job Description

The  Lead Cashier/Key Holder role requires extensive customer service experience. You will be required to work collaboratively with the owner and other members of our small team. Being able to work well with others and delegating tasks to other staffers, host & waitresses. The Lead Cashier/Key Holder will be responsible for a series of opening and operating procedures, including serving customers.


Requirements:

Passionate about hospitality and courteous towards staff & customers

Entrepreneurial team spirit - must be independent and work well with little to no supervision

Understanding of Haitian & Caribbean culture

Familiarity with various POS systems 

Experience delegating & managing others 

3-4 years of prior restaurant or bakery experience

Food Handlers certificate 

Knowledge of Department of health regulations 

Efficient time management skills 

Must Speak English

French or Creole speaking is a plus but not required

Experience managing Gold Belly or E-Commerce orders are also a plus


Salary

Hourly $18-$21

Benefits starting after 3 months of employment
